ABOUT
Architect Khandoker Tariqul Islam started his professional career early in his student life, in his second year, when he was picked by the internationally renowned architecture firm URBANA. During his tenure at URBANA, he was involved in prestigious national and international projects, including the Aga Khan Award (2014) winning project Friendship Center, Glass Tower, and the Liberation War Museum at Suhrawardy Udyan, among many others. After gaining five years of professional experience, he focused on his architectural practice in 2011.
Following his early success with a prestigious international award and subsequent national achievements, he has worked on over 200 projects in various categories so far.
Besides his professional involvement, Islam is also engaged in research in sustainable and green architecture, urbanism, energy efficiency, and acoustics. He has published nine international research papers, some of which have been presented at esteemed international conferences like PLEA. He has been featured several times on national television as an expert in thermal comfort and sustainable building design.
In addition to his architectural practice and research, Islam is involved in teaching. He is serving as the Head of the Department & Assistant Professor of the Department of Architecture at Bangladesh University.
